Wayne first moved to Ukraine in April, 1993, just a week before his 18th birthday. His plan was to give God a year of his life before returning home to become a fighter pilot with the Royal Australian Air Force. God, however, had a better idea! Now more than 28 years later, Wayne is still there! Wayne’s wife, Olya, and their four sons, Mark and Matfei (twins aged 21), Nikita (12 years) and Timofei (5 years) are all Ukrainian.
Wayne is the pastor of a church plant in regional Ukraine. His vision is for Community Transformation and his passion is to see Christian enterprises established and being catalysts of change in their communities. Wayne loves to share his story and challenge people about using their gifts for the Kingdom no matter what they are. After a bunch of innovative endeavours like biogas, biodiesel, mushroom growing, the last years have been devoted to creating a pilot pyrolysis waste2fuel project. This could become a game changer for generating sustainable income and for discipleship among the least reached!
Wayne is also the captain-coach of Ukraine’s first cricket team fielding locally born players.
