NOTE: Due to the nature of the work of the café and our desire to offer the best possible project practice, we are no longer able to offer tax deductibility for this project from 1 April, 2020.
The team is working hard on an updated project plan for the sustainability and best possible running of the café. Rent has been paid for another two years, Daz and Bee are settling into their roles in running it, they’re enjoying the café team and are taking the time to revise and reshape the café to make it as effective as it possibly can be, both as a business and as a place of hospitality and connection for so many in the community.
The work it does strengthens the community and they want to be able to focus on the vision and purpose of the business and its potential. We thank you for your continued support. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
The Global Interaction team in South-East Asia team has run a café in a bustling local city since 2012. The café is run, supporting the employment and training of staff from low socio-economic households in the local area and supporting behaviour change initiatives around better environmental management. It works in collaboration with the team’s other core initiatives. As the team works towards running a profitable hospitality business, all profits are intended to support the community development initiatives of other platforms, co-located with the café, including a Waste Bank and Children’s library.
This project covers training for local staff, location rent, a team building retreat, marketing, emergency staff assistance, eco-friendly equipment and some travel and transition needs as the former director trains and hands over the role to newer cross-cultural staff.
Funds raised by this project will secure the core work of this café for a further three years.
Gifts to this project are NOT TAX DEDUCTIBLE (as of April 1, 2020).
