This journey led her to complete study at Bible College and participate in short-term mission trips overseas. These experiences equipped her to serve in intercultural ministry and ignited her desire to serve long-term with Baptist Mission Australia’s team in Thailand.
Petina has been living among the Ethnic Thai people in Ban Luang since 2013. She has seen God grow and develop the communities of believers and has learnt the value of building relationships in order to gain trust and share the Gospel in culturally appropriate ways with the Ethnic Thai.
In her second term she will be moving to Chiang Rai to join other team members in a community where there are few, if any followers of Jesus. She will build new authentic relationships with the local Ethnic Thai people in the hope that one day there will be also be a Community of Faith in this area. Petina is looking forward to the opportunities God will create and the doors He will open to make this happen.
